Google Optimizer Goes Mainstream

GrokDotCom reports that Google Optimizer has shed its beta status:

Google Website Optimizer can now be accessed by anyone with a basic Google account. Even if you only have so much as a Gmail account, you can start testing your website — for free — regardless of whether you’re running a paid search campaign. (No worries, AdWords users, Website Optimizer still works seamlessly with the rest of the Google product suite.)

ContentRobot Plugins are WordPress 2.5 Compatible

ContentRobot put our plugins - iWPhone WordPress Plugin and Theme and Google Website Optimizer Plugin - through their paces and we’ve deemed them to be WordPress 2.5 compatible!

As always, the iWPhone plugin does not play nicely with WP-Super Cache (or any caching plugins), but there is no change to the installation and usage.

Even tho Google has updated their Website Optimizer, we found that multi-variant testing works great with the plugin on any WordPress blog.

Thanks for all the good things you have to say about our plugins - we’re glad you find them useful.

In related news, the plugin is getting good traction at Technorati as well with 353 iWPhone mentions. ContentRobot is pleased that the blogging community likes our plugin. Look for more to come!

Apple + WordPress = iWPhone (+new version!)

You know it’s a good week when two of your favorite companies call just to thank you for the work you have done. We are talking about Apple and Automattic, who both called ContentRobot to chat about our iWPhone WordPress Plugin and Theme. We were tickled pink to hear from both of them in one week and really excited to hear of their interest in our work.

We developed the iWPhone plugin out of our love for Apple products, our passion for the WordPress platform, and to provide the blogging community with a free tool to easily enhance their blogs. We’d like to thank all of the many users of iWPhone for the positive feedback (and trackbacks) - it really does make it worth it to know our work is appreciated.

We are also happy to announce a new update to the iWPhone WordPress Plugin and Theme that adds support for Apple’s new iPod touch.

Did You iPhoneify Your Site? Post Your Pix

As we told you, we recently implemented the iWPhone Plugin and Theme on two of our client sites, Bazaarblog and GrokDotCom.

Lots of people have been asking, “What do these WordPress blogs look like on an iPhone? Well, Bazaarblog has sent us an image.

Did You iPhoneify your blog?

We know you can’t do a “screen shot” on your iPhone - but take some digital pix (or an iPhoney screen shot) - then show off yours by:

Can iPhone Visitors Easily View Your WordPress Blog? With ContentRobot’s iWPhone WordPress Plugin and Theme They Can!

ContentRobot is pleased to announce the iWPhone WordPress Plugin and Theme!

Bitten by the iPhone bug (of course, we have ours!), we were inspired to create a plugin & theme that would allow iPhone visitors to optimally view WordPress blogs. The plugin & theme specially formats your WordPress blog, so iPhone viewers quickly see your content without zooming or jumping through hoops.

Note: it’s early beta release (v0.1) and provides only basic WordPress functionality at the outset, but look for updates and enhancements along the way.

Why WordPress Users Should Enhance Their Blogs With Google Website Optimizer

Does your website or blog function the way you think it does? What content on your site do your readers respond to? What makes them clicking inside for more information (or do whatever action you seek)?

With Google Website Optimizer, which is part of Google Adwords, you can find out. Those enrolled in the service can find out how which headlines, paragraphs of copy, and even images are encouraging visitors to “do what you want them to do.”

For example:

  • Which headline leads more readers to click to a detail page: “Do You Need to Sharpen Your Selling Skills?” versus “Do Your Selling Skills Need a Boost?”
  • Which gets more contact forms completed? Consider the effects of a “telephone” graphic versus an orange “contact us” text link.
  • Google Website Optimizer allows you to set up head-to-head tests such as these and track which instance is providing the most impact. The possibilities for testing are endless; and you are not limited to a single test on a page or even on a particular headline.

With the reporting tools, you can monitor which variations are getting the most clickthrus. Tests can be added, modified, and even paused to suit your needs.

How can WordPress blog owners benefit?
By installing the WordPress Plug-in For Google Website Optimizer, you can perform these types of content and graphic tests on your blog.
