Blogging Overview
Weblogs (or blogs) offer a new and different way for businesspeople to communicate with the outside world. Primarily, they can be used to promote themselves, build networks, and create virtual communities. In contrast with ordinary Web tools that aren’t designed for frequent updates, blogs make it easy to create new material on a daily or hourly basis.
Blogs are rapidly finding there way into corporate agendas. This new communication tool allows people to meet and satisfy their needs and desires to connect and share news and information. Blogs will force changes in how organizations communicate and share information, and will begin embrace blogs as part of their overall development activities.
Backbone Media, Inc.’s 2005 survey findings say that corporate blogs are living up to all the hype. They give established both corporations and obscure brands the ability to connect with their audiences on a personal level, build trust, collect valuable feedback and foster strengthened relationships while and at the same time benefiting in ways that are tangible to the sales and marketing side of the business.
Smart businesses are corporate blogging to their marketing mix and provide a way to network with current, past and even future clients. If you are able to share your thoughts with visitors openly and honestly (consider how rare that is), it’s no wonder that you can translate blogging into bottom line business revenue.
