As we recently reported, Timex Corporation signed ContentRobot to develop its sponsored-athlete blog.

Timex Corporation, the US-based watch company, has signed ContentRobot to assist them with developing a Timex-sponsored Athlete blog, which will be launched this summer.

eComXpo: The Virtual Tradeshow for Ecommerce Marketers

One of our clients, Bazaarevoice, was participating in eComXpo this past week.

Because the tradeshow was virtual, ContentRobot peeked in and attended several online presentations at the comfort of our own computers. Among what we listened to was “Getting the Word Out,” which was chaired by Bazaarvoice’s CEO Brett Hurt.

Although alot of the focus was on search engine and affiliate marketing, there was some good information about blogging as well. Among the nuggets we took away included the four best ways to market your blog …

  1. Optimize your blog post titles, ensuring that there are keywords in there and that it links directly to your permalink.
  2. Take advantage of categories. Note that while most of the blogging software features the ability to create and manage categories, Blogger (for example) does not.
  3. Ping your blog to Ping-O-Matic to ensure that the blogosphere automatically knows when your blog has been updated.
  4. Submit your blog to the following search engines and blog directories:

In the end, even though the interface was a bit clunky (and it only ran on IE for the PC), it was fun to have immediate chats, swap vcard information, and send email to exhibitors and participants all over the world. We looking forward to attending more virtual tradeshows in the future.

Bazaarblog.com Launched Today

ContentRobot launched Bazaarblog.com for our new client, Bazaarvoice.

The Project Scope

  • Converting the blog from TypePad to a WordPress platform.
  • Configuring the WordPress software and setting up the required plugins.
  • Installing the blog on its own domain, bazaarblog.com.
  • Customizing a suitable 3-column template with Bazaarvoice colors and design elements.
  • Importing and tweaking all existing posts and comments into the new format.
  • Including blog elements such as a search form, categories, recent entries, and lists of books and web sites.
  • Incorporating several chicklets that will allow blog visitors to easily add the bazaarblog feed into whatever news reader they use.
  • Setting up feedburner to track blog metrics.
  • Integrating a company newsletter (and signup mechanism) using feedblitz.
  • Performing search engine optimization and search engine and blog directory submission.
  • Adding a contact form for easy communication.
  • Of course, test, test, testing.
  • Providing blog training for entering posts and administering the site.
  • Providing blog technical support.

This technology company, based in Austin, Texas, offers online brands with a managed solution to enable, encourage, and monitor online customer ratings and reviews.

Their solution empowers customers to share opinions on web sites, influencing each other to make more informed and rewarding purchase decisions.
